A bright white quartz peninsula wrapping the corner of the kitchen, cut around a stainless farmhouse sink.
The island is the whole room here. It is a single run of marble-look quartz with a soft grey vein, wide enough to seat a family along one side and still leave a full working surface on the other. Getting a top that size in cleanly is a templating job before it is an installation job.
The same stone carries up the wall behind the range as a full-height slab, so the veining reads continuously from counter to hood instead of stopping at a grout line. Perimeter counters, the farmhouse sink run and the wood-look floor were all handled by the same crew.
